The Engagement
We were vacationing with Erin's Family in St. Maarten in May of 2008. We had decided not to do anything for Valentine's Day this year and to save our money to go out to a really nice dinner down there. So, when Dave announced he had made our Valentine's dinner reservations, Erin thought nothing of it. On Saturday night, we went to dinner at Mary's Boon, a historic inn on the island that is on the beach at Simpson Bay. Dave had reserved a private cabana right on the beach and had a table set for 2 with a gorgeous arrangement of tropical flowers.
We ate dinner which was delicious and got to dessert. We were eating a delicious chocolate eclair type thing and he said "this is so perfect, I could do this forever." Erin, while enhaling her dessert, says "yes, this is amazing." Dave says, "no seriously, lets do this forever..." and got down on one knee and proposed!!
It was amazing and Erin could not have imagined a more perfect proposal. Of course she said yes... and the wedding planning began!
